Roxy Jacenko’s husband, Oliver Curtis, has been found guilty of insider trading.
The 30-year-old was charged with conspiring with one-time best friend John Hartman in 2007 to use confidential information to bet on shifts in share prices – a scam which made the pair a tidy $1.43 million.
Following a 12-day trial and two days of deliberations, a Supreme Court jury has handed back a guilty verdict.
Sentencing will take place at a yet-to-be disclosed date, while the offence carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison.
The trial pitted Curtis and Hartman against one another, with the latter appearing as the prosecution’s star witness.
Over three days in the witness box, Hartman revealed it was ‘the easiest money we could have possibly made’, while the court heard that the pair’s profits were spent on luxury cars and motorcycles as well as lavish holidays.
Hartman himself served 15 months in prison for a number of insider trading offences, though his sentence was reduced upon agreeing to give evidence against his former pal.
Oliver has been married to PR maven Roxy since 2012, while the couple are parents to four-year-old Pixie and two-year-old Hunter.
