‘Things are getting hot for Scientology with court cases that threaten to blow the organisation wide open,’ a source told the National Enquirer.

‘And if that happens, she wants Connor and Isabella — and this potential grandchild to be out of harm’s way,’ they added.

Nicole has been reportedly estranged from Isabella and Connor, whom she initially raised with devout Scientologist and ex-husband Tom Cruise, as she is considered a ‘suppressive person’ by the cult.

‘In the past, she has respected their wishes to stay away, but enough is enough,’ the source added. ‘Nicole is incredibly frightened by the fact she can’t reach her own kids.’

The Big Little Lies star is notoriously tight lipped about her private life, but broke with her usual protocol by opening up about Bella in a recent interview with Vanity Fair.

‘Bella lives just outside London. You know, she really feels more English.

‘They [Isabella and Conor] both had English accents when they were little.’

Rumours of a rift between mother and daughter took hold in 2015 when Nicole was noticeably absent from Bella’s London wedding to IT consultant Max Parker.

Tom and Conor did not attend either, with sources saying Bella wanted to avoid media attention on her big day.

New Idea recently reported that Bella is now being groomed for Scientology superstardom.

Nicole opened up about her eldest children’s divisive beliefs last October, insisting it is her job to give them unconditional love regardless.

‘They are able to make their own decisions. They have made choices to be Scientologists and as a mother, it’s my job to love them,’ she said.
