Hot off the heels from her messy split with Aussie actor Liam Hemsworth, Miley Cyrus has been dealt another devastating blow.
According to RadarOnline.com, Miley’s older brother Trace, 30, recently suffered a relapse after seeking treatment for drug and alcohol abuse.
Taking to Instagram, Miley’s big brother posted an emotional statement revealing he had made it 44 days sober before relapsing.

“I wanna apologize [sic] for not having much motivation to post lately. Made it to 44 days sober then slipped up. Even though I haven’t continued to keep drinking I just haven’t felt too great about myself,” the Metro Station singer wrote on September 3.
Trace continued: “Life is hard for everyone in different ways & drinking has been my way to escape.. Now that I’m not drinking, bad habits like chain smoking has increased only to make me feel more guilty..The most important thing in my life is music & sadly all these bad habits have slowed me down from being the best artist I can be. I hope my true supporters can continue to give me this time I need to grow & better myself. I have so much new music & videos I want to put out into the world but I know now isn’t the right time. I’ll be back soon stronger than ever.”
As New Idea readers would know, Miley and Liam’s divorce has quickly turned nasty, with the Malibu singer lashing out at her actor ex-husband in a remarkably petty act.
According to Straight Shuter, the Slide Away songstress is refusing to give back her 3.5-carat yellow solitaire engagement ring, which is worth over $300 000.
“Miley joked that she didn’t wear the ring often as it really isn’t ‘her aesthetic.’ But she hasn’t given it back yet,” sources told Rob Shuter.
“Liam is in Australia and it’s not the sort of thing you return in the mail. Miley doesn’t know what she’s going to do with it. It doesn’t hold much sentimental value to her. And isn’t a Hemsworth family heirloom,” the sources continued.
“Maybe she will sell it and donate the money to an LGBT charity. Liam doesn’t seem to want it back, so it’s best to make sure some good comes out of it.”
