She’s sparked rumours of a split from husband Liam Hemsworth and ignited debate about sexual consent with her recent social media posts, but it seems Miley Cyrus has been dealing with a terrifying personal experience behind closed doors.

The She Is Coming hitmaker made headlines with her provocative performances at the UK’s Glastonbury Festival last week, which she travelled to with mum Tish Cyrus and sister Brandi.

In the latest episode of Your Favourite Things podcast, Brandi Cyrus revealed the family and their team had a hair raising plane ride to Glastonbury.

“Our plane tried to land twice and had to come back up because there were other planes in our way,” she told co-host Wells Adams.

“Out of nowhere, as we’re landing, we swoop back up and like, bang to the left and turn. It feels crazy!

“Miley’s in my lap, my mom’s holding my hand across the aisle and nobody is telling us what’s going on,” Brandi continued, adding the women were eventually informed another aircraft had been in their path setting them on course for a mid-air collision.

Brandi said Miley and Tish were “really losing it”, with mother-of-five Tish particularly concerned about her daughter Noah Cyrus who would have been left alone had anything happened to the plane, E! News reports.

Thankfully, the trio and their team arrived at Glastonbury unscathed with Miley performing a catalogue of her greatest hits as well as covers of Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black with Mark Ronson and songs from Metallica and Led Zeppelin.

Miley – born Destiny Hope Cyrus – caused a stir on stage during her performance of Wrecking Ball, in which she shouted: “I’m f**ng sick of men.”

The comment sparked speculation of a split between Miley and her longtime love, Australian actor Liam Hemsworth who tied the knot in an intimate ceremony on Christmas Eve last year.

The former Disney star took to social media to clarify her remark, saying the comment was “politically directed”.
