Harry’s girl Meghan: My death threat & race hate terror

The things she had to endure before she got him...

Becoming a celebrity is no easy feat, let alone dating a Prince whilst you are one, but that’s the daily struggle for Meghan Markle, who opened-up about some of the hardships she’s endured before she nabbed her Prince Charming

Last June – long before the world caught wind of the fact she and Prince Harry are an item – Markle, 35, revealed in London the tough times she’d endured through her life.

She revealed to Piers Morgan that because of her role on hit TV show Suits – and the ensuing dramas between her character Rachel Zane and Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) – she received death threats!

“People wanted to kill me! Not Rachel… ME. I never knew there were so many emojis with guns and knives. It was very unpleasant. Fortunately, Rachel got back on her pedestal and it stopped,” she said.

Couple that with the fact that growing up as a mixed race girl in the US “wasn’t easy”, as she puts it, it’s fair to say Meghan had to overcome some challenges.

“My dad’s Caucasian, my mother’s African-American, so I’m half-white, half-black. It caused me a lot of confusion when I was young because it’s not easy to be ethnically ambiguous in America. But I learned to embrace being a mixed-race woman.”

Those days might have passed the American beauty, however, with stories circulating about the sweet gestures she’s adopted for her boyfriend, the Prince and his kind words in their defence that respectfully request their privacy, she’s found herself right in the limelight once again.
