Matty J had his pick of 22 beautiful women on The Bachelor, getting to know each one in turn before confessing he had fallen in love with Laura Bryne.
But in jaw-dropping revelations set to break the jewellery designer’s heart, New Idea can exclusively confirm that the bevy of beauties vying for a rose, and indeed Laura herself, were not enough for love-rat Matty.
The 30-year-old arranged a date with a 21-year-old barista during filming, shocking crew members and onlookers by flirting non-stop with the young woman behind Laura’s back.
Kiri Kennedy was working at Plonk Beach Cafe on Sydney’s North Shore when cameras started rolling on Laura and Matty’s first date on the reality show.
‘Flirting and wanting to meet up with me makes it all a bit unbelievable, don’t you think,’ Kiri tells New Idea.
‘My co-workers pointed out to me that Matty J kept looking at me between filming and smiling,’ she says.
‘I was busy working when a person from the production team approached me and said, “Matty is with his girl at the moment and can’t talk right now, but he would like you to hang around to meet him after she leaves,” ’ explains Kiri.
‘I decided to leave when my shift finished because in all honesty it didn’t feel right to stay,’ she says.
‘All I know is that I would be very disappointed with him if I was in his new girlfriend’s shoes.’
