Former Ready Steady Cook star Matt Golinski and his fianceé Erin Yarwood have welcomed their first child together.
Speaking with ABC Sunshine Coast, the chef’s father confirmed that the pair are proud parents of a baby girl, born on August 16.
The exciting new comes nearly six years after a Boxing Day 2011 house fire killed Golinski’s wife and three children and left the star with critical burns.
Keith Golinski said so many people had shared Matt’s pain when he lost his wife Rachael and three daughters Sage, Willow and Starlia, and was severely injured in the incident at his Tewantin home.
“People deserve to share some of the joy as well,” he told the station.
The new grandfather said he was yet to see his new granddaughter, but was excited to share that his son told him she had “Mum’s dark hair and the Golinski dimples”.
“I’m still in a state of unbelief, it is such good news,” he said.
Golinski announced his engagement the Sunshine Coast fitness trainer last month.
The happy couple first met as friends when Matt was recovering from his extensive burns in hospital.
Both parents are yet to share a snap of their newborn.
