Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge put in an appearance at Ascot for the first time this year and catches up with Crown Princess Mary of Denmark.
The two Princesses could easily have been mistaken for sisters with their similar looks and eye catching hats.

Wearing an elegant Dolce and Gabbana dress and Jane Taylor hat, the Duchess arrived at the grounds with her in-laws – including the Queen (who looks pretty in pink), Prince Philip, Prince William, Sophie, Countess of Wessex and Prince Charles and Camilla.
Crown Mary of Denmark looked vibrant in an orange dress by Marc Jacobs and she arrived in a carriage with Sophie, Countess of Wessex, and her husband, Prince Edward.

The royals mingled with guests in the ring before making their way to the royal box, from where they watched the first race – in which one of the Queen’s horses was competing.
