In the final Married At First Sight episode, three couples revealed they would like to continue seeing other. However; a few months down the track, none have survived the test of time.
Speaking to TheFIX, the final three couples revealed what went wrong.
Keller and Nicole: Both are single, however, Keller is still pining over the school teacher.
‘She’s the one that I want,’ he tells TheFIX. ‘I feel like we are meant to be together, but I don’t know if now is the right time.’
He added: ‘I honestly do not have a bad word to say about her. I still have heavy, heavy feelings for her, but it’s just really hard when she’s indecisive. I said to her the other day, “It’s really unfair on me to be going through this – I can’t keep going like this”.’
While Nicole agrees the couple had a connection, she doesn’t want to pursue a relationship.
‘While we connected on a lot of levels – like we could have a good laugh together, and we have similar morals and values – there were just some behaviours that I couldn’t get past,’ she said.
Bella and Michael: Both are also single, but dating.
‘We just had two completely different lifestyles,’ said Michael. ‘She’s a natural extrovert, and I’m actually an introvert.’
‘I would happily stay at home, and she would definitely not.’
Bella echoed Michael thoughts about their lifestyle. ’It just didn’t work out,’ she said. ‘We have two different lifestyles. But he’s amazing, and I just wish all the best for him and hope that he finds his true love.’
‘We went in pretty hard and fast and gave it everything we had. Then we got back to our normal lives. It’s very different when you’re being filming versus not being filmed,’ Bella adds.
Monica and Mark: The couple soon realised they didn’t have much in common.
Both single, Mark said: ‘It just basically comes down to a lot of what we bonded over and a lot of what we sort of created our relationship about was the TV show.
‘Once the experiment finished, we didn’t really have as much in common as we really wanted to have in common.’
Monica agreed that they were better off as friends.
‘We both went into it with very good intentions…[but] when the cameras stopped rolling, I think it was very clear that we were better just as friends,’ she said.
‘I’m really hoping that even though this didn’t work out with Mark, that somehow maybe Prince Charming is out there watching the show and he gets a glimpse of me and contacts me afterwards!’
