He was mercilessly mocked on social media for loving himself a little too much – but Married At First Sight’s Mike Gunner hasn’t let the teasing dent his ego.
The electrician – who recently confessed to WHO that he’s worked as an actor in the past – showed off his chiselled chest as he sauntered out for a surf on the Gold Coast.
Carrying his surfboard under one arm and sporting a pair of patterned board shorts, the 44-year-old looked relaxed as he enjoyed his solo beach day.
However, the question on everyone’s lips was, ‘Where’s Heidi?’
Perhaps she was still recovering from their disastrous honeymoon, but Mike’s Married At First Sight Bride was noticeably absent during his beach jaunt.
Despite their instant attraction on their ‘wedding day’ the reality TV couple got off to a bad start on their honeymoon when Heidi attempted to open up about her traumatic childhood during a beachside picnic.
Mike seemed to shut down the conversation, saying “how hot is it today?!”.
Speaking to camera, the bemused construction worker said: “Honestly, I just lose focus after a while.
“It’s not that I don’t respect what she’s saying, it’s just me I switch off when a person keeps talking about the same story from every angle. I’ve kind of already got it.”
Back on the beach, Mike sharply told his wife to “find a conclusion at some point because it’s sort of like you’re ranting at me”.
Visibly upset, Heidi had no words but “wow”.
“I’m not your therapist, this is not therapy…you went on a rant and I just had to stop you,” he shot back.
