Channel Seven weatherman Sam Mc Millam – aka Sam Mac – is gearing up to walk the red carpet with his fellow nominees on Sunday night.

But while he’s a hot favourite to win the Gold Logie, the laid back meteorologist told New Idea he’ll enjoy the prestigious event win or lose.

“It’s a huge honour and I just want to make it fun!

“I want to make it entertaining regardless of what happens on Sunday night!”

Sam also revealed he’s set his sights on a cameo in Seven’s Home and Away.

Tom Gleeson  Hard Quiz, ABC

This year’s most controversial hopeful, comedian Tom Gleeson, rubbed his fellow Gold Logie nominees the wrong way with a smear campaign to help him take the title.

The outspoken funny man has branded Costa Georgiadis an “imposter” and called the idea of Sunrise weatherman Sam Mac taking Gold “a travesty”.

Gleeson spoke to Stellar Magazine about his hopes for victory, saying: “The idea of winning a Gold Logie is so preposterous that I have to have it.

“It’s so stupid and it makes me laugh so much, that it makes me want it.”
