Katie Holmes and Liam Hemsworth have something in common: they’re both newly single.
The A-listers both recently ended high profile relationships with their long-term partners, Jamie Foxx and Miley Cyrus.
However, that may not be the only thing the pair soon have in common…

On the back of the announcement that Katie, 40, is headed down under later this year, rumours have surfaced that her pal Elsa Pataky plans on setting up the Hollywood actress with her newly separated brother-in-law, Liam.
Elsa met Katie at a star-studded Hollywood event a couple of years ago and according to a source, the pair hit it off instantly.
“Katie still keeps in touch and Elsa knows she’s had a hard time in her love life of late,” a source spills.
And according to the source, Elsa plans on playing cupid when Katie comes to town.
“Elsa thinks the pair will hit it off and Liam is just Katie’s type,” the source adds.
As the newly announced McHappy day ambassador, The Dawson’s Creek star will be central to fundraising activities on 16 November.
“I’m really looking forward to being in Australia,” the Hollywood actress said in a statement.
“McHappy Day raises funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities, ultimately helping to keep families together while their sick or injured child undergoes treatment.”
Katie’s philanthropic endeavours mirror Liam’s own charity efforts, with The Hunger Games star currently an ambassador of the Australian Childhood Foundation.
Meanwhile, Liam, 29, himself has previously hinted that he would be open to dating an older
woman.
“As the younger brother, I think you always have crushes on your older brother’s girlfriends,” the actor admitted.
