Sophie Monk and Stu Laundy officially confirmed their split last week, and now shock jock Kyle Sandilands has revealed the REAL reason the pair called it quits.
Speaking on this mornings Kyle and Jackie O show, the radio personality claimed the 45-year-old publican would ‘vanish for days at a time.’
‘I was talking to her [Sophie] before Christmas and I knew, you knew it was tough… they weren’t getting on that great,’ Kyle explained. ‘She told me she’s given it a red hot crack, he’s a nice guy. But she did like the guy, she was telling me ‘look I like him but he vanishes for a couple of days at a time.”
Kyle continued: ‘I know what [men] are doing when they vanish for a couple of days at a time – getting away from you…depending what kind of guy you are – might be 3-day bender and a prostitute brothel who knows. You could just be at home getting away from the boozy breath.’
Kyle’s co-host Jackie also had an opinion on the high-profile split, and responded to reports that Stu was unhappy with Sophie’s ‘partying’.
‘To say that she’s a partier, I think she’s a bit like me – she likes to have a wine at night – but we don’t go anywhere,’ Jackie said.
Since then, Laundy has appeared on Fitzy and Wippa to explain that he found out the two had split via social media.
‘I sort of found out through Instagram,’ Stu explains to the hosts. ‘But, having said that we had discussed pushing more towards a friendship.’
Fitzy repsonds, ‘So you found out it was over with an Instagram post?’
The host is referring to Sophie’s note shared to her Instagram followers explaining that the high-profile couple had split.
‘She did it in a very nice way, especially for someone like me who isn’t in the industry,’ Stu adds. ‘I think Soph can hold her head up.’
The couple, who appeared on last year’s season of The Bachelorette Australia, had been dating for three months.
