After Karl Stefanovic’s shock axing from Today, he’s kept out of the spotlight but at the Logies, the TV host was back with a vengeance.

Karl is set to return to screens around Australia on This Time Next Year – and he’s clearly thrilled, as he was all smiles on the red carpet, stopping to chat to his former Today co-host Richard Wilkins and take a selfie with his sister-in-law Sylvia Jeffreys. But there was one co-host he didn’t stop to talk to – Lisa Wilkinson.
“The pair didn’t spend anytime chatting to each other on the red carpet,” reveals a source of their embarrassingly public encounter. “At times, it actually looked like Lisa was trying to avoid Karl.”
Since she left the morning talk show, Lisa has been a regular in the spotlight with her high-profile interviews for The Project but could she be feeling a little jealous now that Karl is once again the talk of the town?
Meanwhile, Karl opened up at a Channel Nine post-Logies brunch about the moment he lost his job.
“I don’t believe for a second I was at my best,” he said.
“I think I was struggling towards the end of last year. It wasn’t a great surprise to me – in fact, it was a relief in many ways that I was taken off the Today show, because I just wasn’t at my best. And you can’t be doing that show unless you are at the top of your game.”
