He’s remained silent for nearly 20 years, and now, in the last instalment of his three-part interview with Dr Phil, Burke Ramsey has finally given his insight into who he believes killed his sister, JonBenet.
Burke – as well as his now deceased mother Patsy and father John – has been under constant suspicion over the years, with many believing that the then nine-year-old murdered his six-year-old beauty pageant queen sister after she was found bludgeoned and strangled in the basement of their family home in December 1996. But he has firm ideas about who did it.
‘It was probably some paedophile in the pageant audience,’ he revealed on Monday nights show.
‘People still can’t get that in their head that we didn’t do it,” the now 29-year-old continued.
Speaking of the murder case that has baffled the world for so long, Burke stated that the focus should be on remembering his little sister – a girl who loved ice-skating and the outdoors, rather than people trying to tarnish his family’s name.
Meanwhile, his father John – who also spoke to Dr Phil – revealed that this would be his last time he speaks to the media.
‘I have no intention to speak out … in the future,’ he stated.
‘The real story here is not that a child was murdered. The real story is what was done to us by [the system]’.
