Isabella Cruise has been accused of trading in on mum Nicole Kidman’s name in a desperate bid to make money.
The 25-year-old has long gone by the name Bella Cruise, but with her new online fashion store about to open, she’s attracted criticism by adopting her mother’s surname just for the business.
The store – titled Bella Kidman Cruise – sells jewellery, clothes, computer gadgets and luggage, and has already been trademarked and registered in the US.
But while her label is already said to be a hit with close friends, it’s the claims that she’s ‘using her mum to make money’ that have really raised eyebrows.
‘Bella didn’t invite her mum to her wedding [to Max Parker], but she’s happy to use her name to make money,’ says one critic.
‘Nicole’s won more Oscars, more Golden Globes and is more A-list than her dad Tom Cruise these days, so it’s obvious that Bella is cashing in on the more successful parent.
‘It seems like they barely have a relationship. Nicole didn’t mention Bella in her Golden Globes speech and they haven’t been seen together in years. But all of a sudden, Bella’s rolling out her mum’s surname when she needs it.’
While the store is yet to go live, it’s already attracting attention on social media.
