Is Garry Lyon still with Nicky Brownless? According to reports the relationship between former AFL Footy Show host and his co-host’s ex-wife is ‘ongoing’.
Lyon stepped from his position earlier this year after the affair with Billy Brownless’ wife was made public.
Caroline Wilson, chief football writer for The Age, suggested in an article on Thursday that Lyon’s ‘journey back into public life’ would not include The Footy Show.
‘The ongoing nature of Lyon’s relationship with Nicky Brownless dictates that the Thursday night program he hosted for a decade is now off-limits,’ Wilson wrote.
News broke earlier this year that Lyon was having an affair with his good friend’s wife.
‘I couldn’t believe it. I found out three or four months ago,’ Billy said on the Footy Show in March.
‘I asked Garry and Nicky earlier on what is going on and they said they were just good friends. That’s what hurts the most.’
Although Lyon hasn’t entered into any negotiations, Wilson says, ‘a highly likely scenario places Lyon in a special commentary role at Fox Footy.’
