Down on the farm, Grant Denyer has rediscovered happiness in simple things – tending his cows, feeding the cooks and collecting newly laid eggs with daughter Sailor.
‘It’s a daily ritual when I’m at home,’ explains the fast-talking Family Feud host and rev-head racing driver. ‘I was never very good at slowing down, but that’s the one thing the farm has taught me – how to relax and leave work behind when it finishes. And that’s the problem I have had my whole life.’
Only two years after seeking rehab treatment for ‘chronic fatigue brought on by exhaustion’, the popular TV presenter at last has his life back on track.
Quitting the city for a smallholding near Bathurst – with wife Cheryl, 36, five-year-old Sailor and 11-month-old Scout — the former Sunrise weatherman confidently forecasts continued health and happiness.
‘I’ve come full circle and I’m 100 per cent now,’ claims the 38-year-old star. ‘I’ve found a real work/life balance and i’m much kinder to my body with what I eat and how I exercise.’
