Channel Nine has reportedly issued its version of a gag order on the increasingly awkward issue of Karl Stefanovic’s marriage crisis.
There is currently a network-wide, de facto ’media ban’ on its major presenters, with a number of previously scheduled interviews and photo shoots reportedly pulled, apparently to stop Nine talent from being asked questions about the Today host’s relationship crisis.
Sources confirmed to The Courier Mail the ‘blackout’ is an attempt to keep Karl out of the headlines amid his separation from wife Cassandra Thorburn. Executives are believed to be concerned about the potential impact on Today‘s ratings if the matter gets greater scrutiny.
Last month, it was reported that Karl and his wife Cassandra are ending their relationship after 21 years of marriage.
Karl has moved out of the family home and is believed to be living with brother Peter Stefanovic and Sylvia Jeffreys.
