Fresh scandal surrounds Ben Affleck’s failed marriage to Jennifer Garner amid reports that the actor has been secretly dating his new girlfriend for three years.
The 44-year-old father-of-three was spotted on several dates with Saturday Night Live producer Lindsay Shookus this week, and now sources claim the pair had been seeing each other for about three years before going public.
Sources revealed to US Weekly that the pair sarted dating when he was still married to Jennifer Garner – the pair announced their separation in June 2015.
“Ben and Lindsay started their affair about three years ago, just a few months after she became a mom. They were not casually dating — they were having a full-blown affair,” an insider told the publication.
“They were sleeping together, sending each other cute texts and meeting up whenever they could.”
The source goes on to state that Jennifer and Lindsay’s now ex-husband, Kevin Mille,r were “devastated” when they found out about the affair.
However, a source close to the Gone Girl star insists the pair have only been dating for three months.
“Lindsay was not what led to the end of their marriage. They had a ton of other problems,” the insider claims. “Ben is enjoying Lindsay’s company, and they will continue to see each other.”
The news comes just days after Ben and Lindsay were pictured enjoying several low-key dates in London – where Ben is currently filming reshoots for Justice League.
The pair enjoyed a romantic, seven-course meal at Mayfair’s Gymkhana Indian restaurant and also caught a showing of The Ferryman at the Gielgud Theatre in London’s West End.
Ben has not yet commented on the allegations.
