In a lengthy Instagram post – uploaded just before entering the reality TV show – The Bachelor winner details the realities of being a single mum to five-year-old Elijah.

‘Being a mum isn’t always a walk in the park, sometimes it’s really flipping hard,’ the 25-year-old confesses.

Speaking of Elijah, she states, ‘So sometimes you are an absolute pain in the bum, you exhaust me and really test my mental processes like nothing else!

‘Some days, as a parent, the challenges out way the rewards. Some days, I am overwhelmed by my responsibilities as your mum.’

Continuing her candid confession, the restaurant manager from Melbourne says, ‘Some days, I think to myself “do I even know what the bloody hell I’m doing!?” And honestly, some days, I feel the answer is no.

‘But what I do know is, is that I love you beyond measure. It’s unyielding, unconditional and without boundary. I have your very best interests at heart(always) and I only ever want the best for you’.

While filming for the show was taking place, Elijah spent time with his dad, Joel Porter and Joel’s girlfriend Ashy Smith.

And just days before viewers saw Richie give his final rose to Alex, Ashy posted a cryptic message on Instagram reading, ‘Too bad you are only a good mother on Facebook’.
