Billionairess Athina Onassis and her Olympic horse-riding hubby Alvaro de Miranda Neto have split after 11 years of marriage. The 31-year-old French-Greek heiress is the only surviving descendent of shipping magnate Aristotle, from whom she inherited a whopping one billion dollars.
A source told a Brazilian newspaper the couple have separated, but haven’t quite ruled out reconciliation, adding: “They still love each other very much and are suffering.”
Devastated Athina is said to be considering bailing on the Rio Olympics while her 43-year-old estranged hubby Alvaro, aka ‘Doda’, is still recovering from a recent truck accident that killed one of his beloved horses. Doda has said in a recent interview he won’t let Athina walk away so easily, saying: “It really is a storm, but I will not give up my love. It will not be easy and will fight until the end.”
