Anita Pallenberg, an actress, model and former girlfriend of Rolling stone band member Keith Richards has sadly passed away.
News of the 73-year-old’s death on Tuesday was announced on social media by close friend Stella Schnabel, daughter of American painter and filmmaker Julian Schnabel.

At present, no cause of death is known.
Born in 1944 in Italy, Pallenberg was sent to a German boarding school because her father wanted her to speak German. Expelled at 16, she eventually came to New York and hung out with Andy Warhol.

She went on to star as The Black Queen in Barbarella, alongside Jane Fonda, and as Nurse Bollock with Marlon Brando and Richard Burton in Candy.
She also starred alongside Keith’s band mate Mick Jagger in Performance – a violent, hallucinogenic movie released in 1970 – and guest-starred as Devil with singer Marianne Faithfull in an episode of Absolutely Fabulous in 2001.
Pallenberg and Richards met in 1965 when she snuck backstage at a rolling stones concert in Munich. They would end up dating for 12 years and had three children together; son Marlon, 46, daughter Angela, 44 and a third child, a son named Tara, who died of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome in 1976.
Speaking of Anita in his 2010 autobiography, Life, Keith said:
“I like a high-spirited woman. And with Anita, you knew you were taking on a valkyrie — she who decides who dies in battle,”
