It’s not unusual for parents to worry about their children when they head overseas, but a former model has found a hilarious way to assure his nervous mum that he’s doing just fine.
Jonathan Kubben Quiñonez recently quit his job as a part-time model and consultant in Brussels so he could become a world traveler, dropping everything and selling all of his possessions, including his car, so he could jet from country to country.
The 27-year-old knew he needed to find a way to let his anxious Mexican mother in Brussels know he was alright, so he created a sign that says, “Mom, I’m fine,” and has been holding it up at every new destination and posting it to Instagram.
“Whatever your age is, if you have a latin mom and a passion for adventure, you will have to find a way to tell her that you are fine. This is my,” he says on Instagram.
The message has so far made its way right across Europe and Central America – it can be seen skydiving in Mexico, scuba-diving in the Caribbean, dancing on a street in Havana, eating pizza in Italy and even while Quinonez was being ‘“roughed up” by the Colombian army.
Now with more than 175k followers, Jonathan says his main goes is to continue exploring the world, giving a positive message and making people laugh.

But to be honest his mum’s probably freaking out with how crazy some of his photos are.
