Prince George’s sixth birthday: a look at his biggest milestones

Prince George is about to celebrate another birthday!

The young royal has fit quite a bit into his six years, so we’ve gone ahead and put together his cutest milestones – everything from the moment his parents Prince William and Kate Middleton introduced him to the world to meeting his siblings Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

First introduction to the public – July 2013

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge introduced Prince George to the public one day after his was born at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London. The proud parents stood on the steps on the Lindo Wing as their first born slept peacefully.

“It’s been emotional,” said Kate. “Any parent will know what this feeling is like.”

George’s first official portrait – August 2013

At just one-month-old George appeared in his first official portrait taken by his grandfather Michael Middleton. The sleepy bub posed with his parents at the Middletons’ home in Berkshire.

His christening – October 2013

Little George was christened at the Chapel Royal, St James’s Palace in London in October 2013. The royal bub wore a lavish Honiton lace gown worn by all royal babies.

Kensington Palace released the formal photographs, which were snapped by Jason Bell in the Morning Room at Clarence House. The photos included the entire family, – Queen Elizabeth II, Kate Middleton, Prince William, Prince Phillip, Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince Harry, Pippa Middleton, James Middleton, and Kate’s parents, Michael and Carole Middleton.

His very first engagement – April 2014

Who can forget when little George took part in his first official royal engagement in New Zealand. The future king melted hearts as he was snapped playing with babies at Government House in Wellington.

One of the mum’s present at the playdate said that little George “owned the place. No one was going to stand in his way.”

Happy first birthday George! – July 2014

The prince’s first birthday was marked with a stunning photograph of Kate, William and George visiting the Sensational Butterflies exhibition at the Natural History Museum.

“He’s quick on his feet,” revealed royal photographer John Stillwell. “He was walking towards me – I was kneeling down to take the picture and he was on top of me as soon as he started walking. He was very quick. He looked really steady on his feet.”

Meeting his first sibling Charlotte – May 2015

George was introduced to his sister Charlotte in May 2015. The little royal stole the show as he waved to well-wishers outside the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital. He managed to melt hearts yet again during his first portrait with his little sister.

First Trooping the Colour – June 2015

One thing’s for sure: little George has character! The royal made headlines during his first appearance for the Queen’s official birthday celebrations. The tot was seen laughing and sticking out his tongue as he watched the Trooping the Colour ceremony from a window, with his Spanish nanny Maria Turrion.

George’s first day of school – September 2017

George made headlines yet again when he attended his first day at school at Thomas’s Battersea.

The then four-year-old started his first day of school with dad William in tow. Mum Kate was noticeably absent after suffering from severe morning sickness.

The milestone came shortly after news the duke and duchess are expecting their third child.
