According to The Mail, the 70-year-old controlled his new daughter-in-law’s accessories during her visit to Fiji with Harry in October.

An insider revealed to the British newspaper that Meghan, Duchess of Sussex had her heart set on wearing a dazzling tiara from the Royal Collection to a dinner hosted by the president of Fiji, Jioji Konrote, but the 37-year-old was vetoed by the Harry’s father.

The insider explained that the tiara would give an air of extravagance to the modern monarchy, something Charles wants to do away with. “Meghan did not understand all of this because she was new to the role and so Prince Charles told her that it would not be appropriate.

The source added that Charles’ words of advice were, “very kindly done.”
