But despite her death over two decades ago, her children continue to keep the People’s Princess’ memory alive.

The latest tribute comes from Harry and wife Meghan Markle who shared a touching photo of Diana as part of their support of LGBTQ rights for Pride Month.

The Princess of Wales was a vocal supporter of equality and gay rights, making international headlines by shaking hands with an AIDS patient in 1987.

Of Diana’s role in breaking the stigma surrounding the disease, a nurse told the BBC at the time: “If a royal was allowed to go in, shake a patient’s hand, somebody at the bus stop or the supermarket could do the same.”

The collage showed the new parents in one picture as well as artwork by Ruben Guadalupe Marquez, Us Weekly reports.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex captioned the post: “Continuing with our tradition to rotate the accounts we follow based on causes and social issues that matter to us:

“For the month of June we “proudly” shine a light on PRIDE.

“This month we pay tribute to the accounts supporting the LGBTQ+ community – those young and old, their families and friends, accounts that reflect on the past and are hopeful for a deservedly more inclusive future.

“We stand with you and support you 🌈”

Harry, 34, has continued his mother’s work and in 2017 gave a heartfelt speech recognising her history making attitude to HIV and AIDS.
