Following the highly anticipated announcement of Prince Harry’s engagement to Meghan Markle, royal watchers will be eagerly awaiting the royal wedding happening in autumn 2018 (Spring in the UK).
And people are (rightly so!) already anticipating everything from what Meghan will wear to who will be joining her down the aisle.
From the Wimbledon champion she considers a close friend to the Star Wars actress she’s known for fifteen years to the several high-profile women she hangs out with, Meghan’s bridesmaids are certainly going to be in line with the royal occasion.
Janina Gavankar
Janina is one of Meghan’s oldest friends withe pair meeting over 15 years ago. In a recent social media post, Markle gushed about her friendship with Janina, captioning: ‘Couldn’t be prouder of how far we’ve come, and couldn’t be more grateful for being able to share every step of it with you’.
Janina is a fellow actor with her most acclaimed role as Iden Versio in the recent Star Wars Battlefront II. The actress has also starred in True Blood, as well as The Vampire Diaries.
Jessica Mulroney
Jessica regularly makes appearances on Meghan’s social media, with the pair often sharing intimate photos of their friendship. Jessica also acts as Meghan’s stylist and is believed to have been employed three years ago to make sure her pal is perfectly preened for her public appearances.
Jessica is the daughter-in-law of former Canadian prime minister, Brian Mulroney, and the pair met after Meghan moved to Toronto for her role in Suits.
Heather Dorak
Dorak is another of Meghan’s friends, and is also the star’s fitness guru. Heather is famed in Los Angeles for her company, Pilates Platinum, and her health and fitness tips saw her enlisted as wellbeing writer for Meghan’s lifestyle website, The Tig, before its closure.
Benita Litt
Benita is one of Meghan’s closest friends. Meghan is even the godmother to Litt’s two daughters. Benita launched the bag company, Legend of Lido, which is based in Venice Beach, and also runs her own brand agency under her name where she helps others to start their businesses.
Misha Nonoo
Fashion designer Misha Nonoo, who split from Alexander Gilkes last year after four years of marriage, was believed to have introduced Prince Harry and Meghan over the summer. Misha is well-connected in royal circles as her estranged husband went to Eton with Prince Harry and Prince William.
Serena Williams
Meghan counts Serena Williams as a close friend after meeting at a charity football game in 2014. Following their meeting, Meghan wrote on The Tig: ‘We hit it off immediately, taking pictures, laughing and chatting not about tennis or acting but about good old-fashioned girly stuff. So began our friendship.’
Lindsay Roth
The TV producer and author is easily vying for the best friend title in Meghan’s friendship circle having recently enlisted the actress as Maid of Honour at her wedding in Greece last August.
Priyanka Chopra
Crowned Miss World at the age of 18 in 2000, Priyanka Chopra is a hugely successful film actress. A tireless social networker, she met Meghan at a party in Toronto two years ago. The two regularly post photos of each other onto their social media accounts.
