Prince William and Kate Middleton are practically the poster couple for the British royal family, and the pair couldn’t look happier in their relationship at the moment.
However, reports have emerged that William was once so “unwilling to commit” to Kate that he planned to dump her while she was informally planning their wedding.

According to an Express.co.uk article, Prince William planned to “extricate” himself from their relationship in 2007.
“Kate did everything she could to make him stay – playing a waiting game one minute and then hard-to-get the next.
“Just the other week, she said she intended to be photographed at as many places as she could without William to punish him for all those pictures that appeared of him clubbing with other girls,” a source said at the time.
William and Kate met at St Andrew’s University in 2001 where they both studied art history. And the pair began as friends before becoming romantically involved in 2003 when they started dating.
However by 2007, the Prince was having second thoughts about his relationship and had taken to partying in London without Kate.
“William’s heart just wasn’t in it anymore,” reported Express.co.uk.
“As she was planning the wedding, he was working out how to extricate himself.”
After their brief split, the royal couple managed to patch things up after a few months apart.
Their break seemed to be just what the Prince needed to see what he was missing, and he proposed to Kate in 2010, with the couple marrying in 2011.
