According to a palace insider, the Queen – who turned 93 last month – will soon step down from her throne, officially bestowing all significant responsibilities on her oldest son, the Prince of Wales.
Of course, it is hugely important for him to gain the love and respect of the people, just like his mother has done for so many years, however, it is no secret that there are still some who have never fully accepted his wife, Camilla.
As the reality of sitting on the throne looms, so does the question of whether Charles will choose the crown over his relationship.
Despite the personal drama, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall put on a brave face to front the public on Monday, while performing their royal duties in Ireland.
Despite smiling for the camera’s, multiple shots show a stony-faced Charles and a weary-looking Camilla sitting far apart from one another as they watch and Irish dancing performance at the Glencree Centre for Peace and Reconciliation, in Enniskerry, Ireland.

A royal insider recently told New Idea that there are grave concerns for the stability of Charles and Camilla’s marriage if he becomes England’s monarch, however, the Queen stepping down from her role seems to be inevitable.
“There is a lot of concern behind palace walls that Her Majesty is taking on too many responsibilities for someone of her age. The family, particularly Charles, want her to scale back,” a royal insider spilt.

As for Camilla’s likeability – or lack thereof – the crown is worried this may negatively effect Charles as King of England.
A royal insider told New Idea: “The Diana diehards will always hate Camilla but time is a healer and more than 20 years after Diana’s death, I thought the worst was over.”
“I’m surprised Camilla’s ratings are low because several polls in the last couple of years have shown her to be more popular with the public.”
