There were just three Australian Survivor contestants left battling for the $500,000 prize in the grand finale: Olympian Shane Gould, criminal barrister Sharn Coombes and AFL champion Brian Luke.
And in their final battles, each of the contestantโs families were there to support them.
In an emotional reunion the contestants hugged their loved ones before embarking on their final challenge where they had to cling onto a swinging pole as long as possible in a bid to win immunity.

After an hour of 15 minutes, the oldest competitor Shane, 61, who was tipped as the bookies favourite from the start decided to step out of the challenge and lost her chance of immunity.
After two hours, Sharn looks strong but Brian looks like he crumbling and attempts to play mind games with his competitor, but in a moment of stupidity he takes his hand off the pole to remove his hat and loses the challenge.
Sharn heads to the last tribal with immunity and a place in the final two. In a tense tribal council Brian is voted out of the game. Commando Steve seems pretty pleased with his eviction and grumbles โthatโs what happens when you donโt treat people nice.โ

Shane and Sharn are now the final two and Shane feels a little worried about being pitted against Sharn. โSheโs one of the best criminal lawyers in Victoria,โ laments Shane who later says sheโs โpacking itโ.
Now back at tribal council, the power shifts to the jury as they decide who should take the title. Sharn puts a powerful case forward and leaves the jury thinking hard.
โIf you donโt put down my name youโre not acknowledging the winner,โ Sharn says confidently.
After putting their cases forward the girls get grilled by the ex-contestants, particularly concerning their loyalty. Shane puts a case forward that if they want to consider loyalty then they shouldnโt vote for Sharn.
And her play works as Shane takes the votes and is crowed winner of Survivor 2018!
When asked how she felt to win, the athlete said: โIt was a challenge to do something crazy!โ
