Until now, Alex Nation’s ex-husband Joel Porter and father of 5-year-old Elijah has stayed quiet ever since Alex won Richie Strahan’s heart on The Bachelor Australia last month.
However, over the weekend, Joel opened up in a response to one of his Instagram followers explaining the last few weeks have been, ‘an interesting and confusing, at times frustrating experience for all of us.’
Despite Joel’s silence, his sister, Kim and current partner, Ashy have aired their views across social media. Most recently, Kim posted about her relief that Elijah now has a good mother figure in his life, which could be seen as a dig toward Alex.
‘I am so relieved my nephew finally has a loving, attentive, maternal figure at home,’ Kim revealed in her cryptic comment. ‘That kid has a fiercely protective family, & someone insincere would never get our tick of approval. We are the hardest nuts to crack. We know & love you Ash…You know you’re in the circle of trust.’
Due to this post, Joel opened up and addressed his sister’s latest social media outburst.
‘He [Elijah] has lots of love around him, Kim has been there to help and look after my little guy many times over his life, as family does,’ Joel explained. ‘They have an amazing bond…Most of the world plays in the realm of social media and to express ourselves, whether it’s happiness or sadness, excitement or frustration, it’s a way people express how they see the world around them.’
Joel went on to clarify that no one in his family is after fame.
‘Fame isn’t what any of us want…I just want everyone to be happy, I want what’s best for everyone, and I just want to protect and look after my little boy. He’s number one.’
