When maths student Sarah Thomson knew her baby was due to be delivered she was concerned she might have to miss her classes.
But her supportive professor told the new mum she was welcome to bring her baby to class anytime.
In fact maths professor Josie Ryan even helped Sarah by holding her son Isaiah during class so Sarah could take notes.
Says Sarah: ‘It’s so reassuring to know there are professors out there like this. Not only is she an amazing person, she’s also one of the best math professors I’ve ever had … Brilliant really.’
Dr Ryan says she simply wanted to make it easier for her student. ‘We all have rough places in life. Sometimes a little help can make it possible for people to find their way, to succeed, to become the person they want and are meant to be.’
