Grant Denyer has experience one of parenting’s biggest nightmares – the lunchbox shame.
Sharing on his 2DayFM radio show, Breakfast with Em, Grant and Ed, Denyer reveals that her got a surprise note claiming the lunch he had packed his daughter was ‘inappropriate.’
He says, ‘A letter was sent home from Sailor’s school for having an inappropriate item in her lunchbox.’
But, what is truly shocking is what the item in question was.
The popular radio host revealed that a gluten-free, home-made, chocolate-chip muffin, which was made by him and his daughters, was the item teachers were not happy about.
‘The note said it was inappropriate because it was an unhealthy item in a lunchbox and that contravenes school policy on lunches,’ Denyer told his co-hosts.
Em Rusciano agreed that Australia does have an obesity problem and that children’s lunches should veer on the healthier side, but didn’t agree with the way the school dealt with telling a parent.
Denyer admitted he was completely embarrassed at receiving the note and that he ‘felt like the worst parent in the world’.
