She admits her life was “perfect”. With a cricket legend husband, two healthy kids and a blessed life, Tracy Bevan felt she had no right to complain.
But the mum-of-two says she was was so stricken by post-natal depression she considered taking her own life.
Speaking with Jules Sebastian, Tracy said: ‘I remember sitting in a park in the UK and thinking, “If I kill myself tonight, my mum will be there”. Mother would take care of the kids, Michael would eventually be fine.’
She says she remembers looking at her girls dancing in the rain and realised she had to confide how she was feeling to her husband.
She says the moment she told him, it suddenly didn’t seem so bad.

Tracy says she went to see a doctor who put her on anti-depressants, a decision she says was “the best thing in the world”.
She says the couple’s marriage ended because they wanted different things.
‘I just said “I’m not the right person you need for the next part of your life because this is the road I want to go down and I love you enough to let you go”.’
Tracy, who works as an ambassador for the McGrath Foundation, says she was speaking out because she wants to encourage mothers not to be ashamed if they suffer post-natal depression.
