Remarkable survivor, Turia Pitt, has taken to Instagram following recent laser surgery with a brave admission.
She captioned the post with a close up selfie, “Sometimes I get really self-conscious after surgery – I feel like everyone is having a huge stickybeak at me. This week I felt it big time, and yeah, it sucks.”
Not to be defeated by her inner fears, she continued: “But you know what? Sometimes in life when you’re on a quest to improve yourself, no one else’s opinion or judgement matters. You’ve gotta own yourself and wear your challenges like a boss – after all, no one else is gonna do it for you!”
In 2011, Turia survived a horrific brush with death, which saw her suffer burns to 65 per cent of her body, lose several fingers and spend a gruelling five months in hospital after she was trapped in a grassfire during a 100 kilometre ultra-marathon in the Kimberleys.
