A young boy has helped his father give skin-to-skin contact to premature twins.
The photo of the Swedish family was posted by the NINO Birth organisation with the caption: “Skin-to-skin contact is not “new” but Sweden certainly leads the way in making this care family-friendly, even for tiny baby.”
Skin-to-skin contact helps newborns regulate their heartbeat and temperature, encourages feeding, whether breast or bottle, and reduces stress.
