That’s right, the Fed, the world No.2, and winner of 20 Grand Slam titles has been bundled out of the US Open in the fourth round by unseeded Millman, currently the world’s 55th best player.

It’s been described as one of the greatest upsets in US Open history.

Millman is just the second player to defeat Federer in a Grand Slam, and the first to do it since Patrick Rafter back in 1999.

It’s certainly a career best performance for the plucky 29-year-old from Brisbane.

At last year’s US Open, Millman bowed out in the third round.

The upset has left the tennis world – and the rest of us, for that matter – in shock.

1. Millman turned pro in 2006.

He’s had to wait 12 long, sweaty years to taste real success.

Millman has the Olympic rings tattooed on the inside of his right bicep, honouring his appearance at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

3. Millman’s had his share of injuries, including a shoulder reconstruction in 2013 and groin injury last year which left him out of the game for months.

4. He is one of five children, and has four sisters.

5. Millman counts Federer as a hero – frankly, who doesn’t?

6. He supports Liverpool in the English Premier League.

Millman will have his work cut out for when he faces Novak Djokovic in the quarter finals on Thursday.
