Distressing footage has emerged of an infant being dropped on its head by hospital staff just moments after she was born.
WARNING: Video is extremely disturbing
A US couple are demanding answers after their baby daughter was dropped head first as doctors tried cleaning her moments after she was born.
Monique Rodgers went into premature labour three weeks before her due date on February 14, giving birth to healthy twin daughters – Morgan and Madison.
The disturbing moment was captured by the baby’s father, Derrick, who filmed the staffers at Chandler Regional Medical Center in Arizona dropping the infant.
Just days later, they say their daughter Morgan, who was born underweight, suffered a hemorrhage on the left side of her brain, and the parents want to know if it was caused by the doctor seemingly dropping their child head first.

Shocked by what he had witnessed, Derrick waited until his daughters were delivered safely before disclosing what had happened to his wife.
The distressed father told ABC15 he confronted the doctors about the incident however they weren’t responsive.
‘I told him, “You dropped my baby,”’ he recalled. ‘He had like a nonchalant look on his face. Then I showed him the video, and he had nothing to say after that.’
The Rodgers were discharged shortly after except Morgan remained in the neonatal intensive care unit for 12 days post-delivery because she was born weighing just 3lbs 4oz. On the fifth day of her hospital stay, a head ultrasound was performed.

The couple revealed they did not get the results of the test until six weeks later, which showed their daughter suffered a grade 1 germinal matrix hemorrhage, or a small bleed, in her brain.
“I wouldn’t wish what I’m feeling on my worst enemy” Monique said.
Rodgers and her husband won’t know the cause of the haemorrhage until they visit a neurologist, who is booked out until August.
The parents are not pursuing legal action against the hospital, a representative for which has said that they are currently investigating the incident.
