It was just before 2am on January 21 when the 33-year-old male victim was shot on the drive-way of a Condell Park home. The balaclava-clad criminal fled in a nearby white Toyota Corolla hatch following the horrific incident.

According to police records, the car was last seen traveling towards Jocarm Avenue with no further traces. The victim however was treated at Bankstown Hospital for two gunshot puncture wounds and has since been released from hospital.

Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Criminal Groups Squad have released CCTV footage of the botched assassination attempt, urging anyone who might have details to come forward.

The shooting is one of several other gun-related incidents to have shaken Sydney’s Western suburbs over the last month. Last week, the NSW Police Force released footage of another masked gunman open firing on a man who was walking into his family home. Earlier this month, another gunman reportedly shot two men at a Five Dock apartment. Only one of the victims survived with a gunshot wound to the shoulder.

Anyone with information that may assist Strike Force Waincourt detectives is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au.
