Over the last couple of years, more and more people have been relying on fitness apps to guide them through their workouts and help them stick to their diets. Some fitness programs like 28 by Sam Wood or Sweat It To Shred It from Sarah’s Day even have apps that’ll guide you through the programs and help you achieve the best results.

Sweat With Kayla

Since 2008, Kayla Itsines has been changing the lives of women all around the world as one of the biggest fitness influencers ever and as a co-creator of Bikini Body Guides (BBG), a fitness program that she co-created with her fiancé, Tobi Pearce. A couple of years after launching the fitness program, Kayla and her partner would bring BBG to smartphones through the new SWEAT app in 2017.

As the PDF guides of her fitness program have been on the internet for a couple of years now, a lot of you may already have access to the workouts and meal plans that the app was originally built on. That being said, you shouldn’t let that or the recurring monthly cost scare you away from the Sweat With Kayla subscription.

After all, the app doesn’t just repeat content from the original program – it expands the original 12-week program into 75 weeks of workouts while also including a lot of quality-of-life features and even additional workout programs!

The Workouts

Sweat With Kayla workouts include more than just BBG – it has seven additional 12-week programs designed by five amazing female trainers that each focus on different kinds of physical fitness. On top of that, the programs utilise different forms of exercise that address different fitness needs and goals, whether those goals be related to weight loss, maintenance, or strength-building.

Prefer working out at the gym? The new BBG Stronger program lets you use equipment like the leg press or the Smith machine in Kayla Itsines’ workouts!

Want to include some mindfulness into your training? Sjana Elise Earp’s Body and Mind program helps you train the mind, body, and soul through yoga!

Looking to get back into the grind after giving birth? Kelsey Wells has got you covered with her Post-Pregnancy program!

With all these additional workout programs plus the 75 weeks of BBG workouts, you’re sure to find a routine in the app that’ll help you look and feel your best.

The Food

The Sweat With Kayla subscription also provides you with meal plans that don’t just cover the three basic meals but also your midday snacks. Most of the recipes in the app are easy and convenient to make and are not just nutritious but also delicious. Also, the app provides pictures of the cooked recipes, so you’d know what to expect.

The app also provides pescatarian, vegetarian, vegan, and even ovo-vegetarian and lacto-vegetarian options, so there are recipes for just about any kind of user. On top of that, the app also lets you modify recipes and meal plans so that you can avoid ingredients you don’t like or focus your weeks around meal plans that you really enjoy.

The Goodies

In addition to the workouts and meal plans, the app comes with a lot of quality-of-life features that make life a little bit more convenient.

One of these features is Trainer Audio, which helps give you motivation for your workouts by adding in audio narration from your favourite trainers. After all, it’s a lot easier to do the exercises when you aren’t checking your phone after every set. The audio narration even works while you’re playing music from Spotify or Apple Music as the SWEAT app knows to lower the music’s volume when your favourite trainers are talking to you.

The app also makes meal plans more convenient by including a diet tracker that not only logs your meals but also generates shopping lists, which makes sure that you’ll have all the ingredients that you’ll need for the week.

Speaking of trackers, the app also has a progress tracker that not only lets you take progress photos but also provides a side-by-side view of your before and after pictures, which can help you better see the results of all your work.

In addition to all of that, the app also has other trackers that let you set goals and log in metrics related to the workouts you’ve done. It even tracks metrics like heart rate and calories through its integration with Apple’s HealthKit.

As a bonus, the integration with HealthKit also lets you use the app from an Apple Watch, which can be a more convenient way to view workouts and log in metrics.

The Cost

As great as all the content and features are, it can’t be denied that the app is a bit pricey. While a lot of other fitness apps offer workouts and recipes for free or a nominal fee, the Sweat With Kayla subscription is going to cost you $USD 20 ($AUD 30) a month or $USD 120 ($AUD 177) a year. That’s pretty expensive, especially when you compare it to the one-time fee that you pay to get Kayla’s PDF guides.

But, for as expensive as the subscription can get, we still think it’s worth the price. Plus, we’re not the only ones that think so! Here are some Sweat With Kayla reviews:

I LOVE this app! first started out a few years ago with the ebooks, which were challenging but great. I’ve had this app for about 6 months now and I absolutely love it. It keeps me accountable and there are SO many options for work out programs. dont be scared by the price, it is worth every penny.

Some users even think that the subscription price is pretty cheap when compared to other fitness services:

“…great meal plans, easy to follow exercise with alternatives and timer. hurt like hell the next day so defiantly works the muscles. $119 for a year is pretty cheap for the content given. remember a gym sign up is $120 And then ongoing fees.

What cinches in the deal for us though are the app’s constant updates. Since its launch, the app’s added four more workout programs to the mix, so who knows what else they’ll add in the future?

Is Sweat With Kayla Worth It?

For our money, it definitely is! The app is a complete fitness program that offers a ton of options with regards to your choice of workout and diet.

That being said, before you subscribe, you should take advantage of the app’s 7-day free trial and see if the app is right for you. If you need more information, you can visit their website and learn all the options they offer and all the benefits the program provides.
