Ellen DeGeneres is well known for her hilarious jokes, but it appears there’s one woman who is not laughing with the funny woman.
Titi Pierce, a 35-year-old real estate agent from Georgia, is seeking legal action after Ellen used her name in a ‘What’s Wrong With These Signs?’ segment on her popular talk show.
Ellen showed a photo of one of Pierce’s real estate signs, and mispronounced her name as the rather rude ‘Titty Pierce’.
After chuckling with the audience, Ellen then continued: ‘Ahhh, Titty Pierce. Sounds like she might have spent some time in that nipple home, I dunno.’
Titi Pierce, whose first name is pronounced ‘Tee Tee’, is claiming that the show intentionally inflicted emotional distress.
Producers have also been hit with the lawsuit as they failed to blur out Pierce’s phone number – though it appears the number has since been blurred.
Pierce was inundated with phone calls while she was attending a family funeral and is subsequently seeking damages from Warner Bros, demanding they never show the segment again.
