She’s known as Meghan Markle‘s best friend and was one of the guests at the Duchess’s lavish baby shower in New York this year, but fashion designer Misha Nonoo has been moving in circles with A-listers for quite some time.
The British womenswear designer was born in Bahrain, raised in London and educated in Paris – a fact which she says “exposed her to a diverse collection of references, showcasing a unique outlook for the modern, multifaceted woman through the development of a ‘capsule wardrobe’ in her work.”

Misha rose to fame when she became the first fashion designer to debut a runway collection on Instagram.
In addition, she was a finalist for the 2013 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund and was named one of Forbes’ 30 under 30 in 2015.
According to UK publication The Evening Standard, Meghan and Misha first met through a mutual friend in Miami.
“We were seated next to one another at a lunch, and we got along like a house on fire,” she told the publication.
“I love her to death. She is the coolest girl in the world,” she added.
Misha was personally chosen by the Duchess to feature within her Smart Works capsule collection.
She designed the Smart Set white shirt, and for every shirt sold, the fashion designer will donate one to Smart Works to add to the work wardrobes of women in need.
Misha was also the designer behind the famous white ‘husband shirt’ that Meghan wore for her first public appearance with Prince Harry at the Invictus games last year.
According to Town and Country Mag, she is one of the rumoured matchmakers who set up Meghan and Harry’s blind date.
However, they’re not the only royals Misha counts as close friends.
Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are also close friends of the designer.
Eugenie has posed alongside the fashion designer at several events, and recently attended her clothing line launch event in New York.
Last year, she joined Beatrice on a vacation in Jordan, along with Karlie Kloss and Ellie Goulding.
Prince Harry is also close friends with Misha’s ex-husband Alexander Gilkes.
At the moment, Misha is engaged to Michael “Mikey” Hess.
According to the Daily Mail, her fiance posted about their engagement on his private Instagram account, sharing a photo of the proposal, which took place in Cabo San Lucas.
“Thank you for making all my dreams come true, Misha Nonoo,” the caption read.
“I am so in love with you, and I feel so lucky I get to spend the rest of my life with you right beside me.”
