Most of us felt rather sorry for Elizabeth Sobinoff during her short-lived yet drama-filled time on Married At First Sight, but now it seems our silver-tongued Lizzie has found herself in the centre of yet another television gaffe, but this time on a breakfast morning show!
This morning’s utter disaster of an interview on Today Extra left viewers at home cringing, as it became clear that Elizabeth was unaware as to why she had been asked for an interview.
Viewers were teased Wednesday morning that Elizabeth was going to give Channel Nine’s audience’s an exclusive reveal about her upcoming reality show spin-off.
However, when it came time to spill the beans, Lizzie looked mighty confused.
WATCH the whole awkward exchange in the video below!
At the start of the segment, Today Extra host Sonia Kruger gave Lizzie a warm introduction, while also informing viewers that the new reality show is going to star MAFS’ BFF’s Elizabeth and Cyrell Paule: “Elizabeth and Cyrell are joining forces to star in their own reality TV show!”
Adding to Sonia’s opener, co-host Dave Campbell then said: “So we’ve brought Lizzie in to tell us all about it… What is this project with Cyrell?”
It’s at this moment the reality star looks dumbstruck in her attempts to grapple for an answer, clearly blindsided by the question.

“I don’t know,” Elizabeth stammers, “Yeah, I just heard about it and I have no idea… one of my best friends forwarded me a link [to an article about it].”
Lizzie then confessed that when her friend asked her about the ‘project’, the brunette beauty – and the supposed star of the show – confessed that she had heard nothing about it.

It would seem that the people over at Today Extra invited Elizabeth for an interview based on an unconfirmed report in a magazine, in which an ‘anonymous source’ claimed friends Elizabeth and Cyrell were embarking on a spin-off series.
In an even stranger move, the interview obviously went ahead without any fact-checking, which is why viewers were left with a wholly uncomfortable viewing experience.
Oh dear.
