He announced at the end of last year that he was leaving the world of television to return to his building and construction roots, and former Channel 7 star Tom Williams’ career appears to be going from strength to strength.
Sharing a series of cute family snaps to Instagram, the former Daily Edition host posed alongside his wife fashion designer Rachel Gilbert and their two young daughters Storm, four and Sloane, three, before revealing that he had secured a job with real estate giant LJ Hooker.
“It’s a monumental day for The Williams’s…Storm has her first day at Kindergarten and Daddy is off to his first day @ljhooker_avnu !” he captioned the pictures.
In December 2018 the 48-year-old revealed that he would be leaving Seven to join project marketing company Boutique Estates International as a partner.
“It’s been wonderful to be part of The Daily Edition from day one, it’s rare that you get to be a part of something in TV that lasts for five years,” Williams said.
“The family and I are super excited about the new opportunities coming up, but I’m also looking forward to more television opportunities as well.”
Staring out his career as a builder, Tom secured his first media gig on Merrick and Rosso’s Triple J radio show, where callers would ring in and ask “Tom the Chippie” questions.
The TV star later went on to appear on Seven’s Room For Improvement series, and has since appeared on shows including The Weakest Link, The Mole — The Amazing Game, The Great Outdoors and Dancing With The Stars.
