The feud that’s been going on for two decades between former boy band favourites has been reignited with news Ronan Keating played second fiddle to Robbie Williams in a fight to fill the fourth coaching spot on The Voice Australia.
According to sources at Channel Nine, former Take That singer Robbie was approached for the role while Down Under on his Let Me Entertain You tour – well before Boyzone’s Ronan.
However, the lovable bad boy veteran wasn’t interested, despite a reportedly handsome pay packet. It wasn’t until a quiet press release was circulated on Christmas Eve that Ronan, 39, was confirmed as Ricky’s coaching replacement.
While there has been no confirmation of the coaching line-up for next year, Ronan says he’s loving his time on the show. ‘For me, it’s been a breeze,’ he tells New Idea, adding: ‘It’s gone so quickly. If anything, I want it to slow down.’
