For decades, rumours swirled that the late Whitney Houston was secretly involved in a lesbian relationship with her personal assistant and long-time friend Robyn Crawford.
And now, Robyn’s father appears to have confirmed the hush-hush romance.
Speaking to Radar Online, Dennis Crawford revealed:
‘I knew 40 years ago, we all knew. I saw them together.’
Whitney and Robyn met as teens in their native East Orange, New Jersey, quickly growing close before Robyn soon became the legendary singer’s personal assistant – travelling with her around the world,
“When she told me, there was nothing I could do about it except love her,” Dennis said of his daughter’s confession – before going on to explain that he had seen them kissing and holding hands.
He also alleges that, despite denying any knowledge of the relationship, Whitney’s mother, Cissy was also aware of their closeness.
“She knew about the relationship with my daughter 25 years ago. Why she would deny it, you have to ask her,”
As Radar previously reported, the tragic star’s bodyguard and friend claimed Whitney and Robyn shared a forbidden lovein the new documentary, Whitney: Can I Be Me.
“Robyn provided a safe place for her…in that Whitney found safety and solace,” Whitney’s stylist Ellin Lavar said in the film.
