Sunrise host Sam Armytage has opened up about motherhood, revealing that a family of her own may not be on the cards.
In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, the TV veteran admitted she had always wanted children, but was open to the idea of never becoming a mum.
“Well, yes (I want kids), I’ve never made any secret of it but I don’t know whether that is my path,” she said.
“It would be nice but if it doesn’t happen then c’est la vie and if it does, it would be lovely.”
The notoriously private 40-year-old added that she felt uneasy discussing the topic as she was unable to predict the future.
“I don’t like talking about it because you don’t know what is going to happen,” she explained.
Speaking candidly, the breakfast presenter – who grew up in country NSW – also confessed that she has no desire to date someone who works in the media.
Instead, her ideal partner would be a man who “appreciates nature and horses and rural things.”
“I’ve realised at this point that I need someone away from the industry,” she said.
“’It has to be someone that is very genuine and not in into my career at all.”
