Earlier this year he shocked fans with the news of his retirement from the TODAY show after 12 years at the helm.
But if his recent social media activity is anything to go by, Steve Jacobs has no regrets.
The former weather presenter has taken to Instagram to share some blissful snaps of his family enjoying their new life in Vanuatu.
“Destination paradise,” he captioned one pic of his two young daughters Isabella and Francesca taking in the sights.
“3 family days in a tiny beach hut on a remote island in Vanuatu. Couldn’t be happier.”
The 50-year-old’s wife, Rose Jacobs, also appears to be enjoying the sea change.
“Pele Island Vanuatu. No running water, no electricity, bucket showers, two warm bottles of champagne and the three most important girls in my life. Absolute bliss,” Steve penned alongside a pic of his love. He also ensure to tag his old workplace in the idyllic shot.
This comes months after Rose opened up about the “misery” that saw their family pack up and leave Australia for good.
In a blog post for Kidspot, she admitted that their life in Sydney was “toxic” and explained that relocating had changed them for the better.
“The greatest danger my kids face now are coconuts falling on their heads,” she wrote.
“My husband is seeing the old me that he first fell in love with.”
“I’ve got chooks, a veggie garden, a hammock and my sanity back,” she added.
