Popular 90’s singer Sinéad O’Connor has been hospitalised after sharing an alarming video on Facebook telling fans she’s suicidal.
According to Radar Online, police in New Jersey were called to the Travelodge motel the 50-year-old has been residing at after concerns grew for her well-being.
“My officers went over there after receiving a call about a video and a woman in distress,” Captain Robert Kaiser told the publication.
“We saw the video and realised that was our motel. So we went over to the motel to check on her. At that point, she was gone and we never made direct contact with her.”
“We heard that she has since been checked into a hospital, and we have made periodic checks throughout since.”
Employees of the motel claim to have seen the Nothing Compares 2 U hit maker with two men on Friday who were discussing taking to a psychiatric facility for evaluation.
It’s believed O’Connor’s vehicle will remain parked in the Travelodge carpark while she seeks treatment for her mental illness.
“Her car is still there and can be, because she is paid up over the next 30 days at that motel Captain Kaiser said.
The news comes just days after a rep for the star took to Facebook to ensure fans that she was safe and “surrounded by love and receiving the best of care.”
